Liza is a 17-year-old senior at Pentucket Regional High School. Liza plans to major in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and may pursue a degree in engineering. While Liza has not yet chosen where she will get her education, she is considering Colby College, UMass Amherst Commonwealth Honors College and Dartmouth College.

Liza is an accomplished scholar with many academic achievements to her credit. A member of the National Honor Society, she is also Vice President of the Science National Honor Society. Liza has studied Latin and is a member of the Foreign Language National Honor Society. She is the recipient of her class’s Rensselaer Medal, and has been awarded high school Mathematics and Science Academic Achievement awards. Liza is drawn to science and mathematics and is President of the Math Team, as well as an enthusiastic member of Science League. She’s an athlete too, playing on the Pentucket Varsity Tennis Team when she’s not selling ice cream in downtown Newburyport.

Liza has been very active in her community. She is part of the Volunteer Club and is Captain of the Peer Mentor team. She volunteers for the Long Way Home, a non-profit organization that uses recycled materials to build schools and libraries in Guatemala.
